“Work It” is taken from Marie Davidson‘s new album Working Class Woman, out October 5 on Ninja Tune.
Montreal-based producer Marie Davidson is readying the release of her fourth album. After “So Right“, she is back with a propulsive and fierce new track in which she talks about success and hard labour, with quite a dominatrix tone (“sweat dripping down your balls”). The artist knows the meaning of working hard: She was a waitress for ten years in order to be able to make music. The magic of “Work It” is this liminal space between sarcasm and empowerment but, most of all, this banger sounds like one of the most essential dance releases of the year.
