London artist Ms Ray is readying the release of MELT, a tender, heart-on-sleeve EP that leans fully into the all-consuming nature of love. The project gathers a set of intimate songs made, as she puts it, for “your heart and ears,” tracing what happens when love seeps into every thought and feeling. Known for her delicate, emotionally direct songwriting, Ms Ray brings that same warmth and vulnerability across the EP, following on from her 2020 debut Wow Is Now.
Leading the way is “Miss You,” a luminous collaboration with Baltimore artist Nourished By Time. The single is one of the latest additions to our Best Songs of 2026 playlist. From the first seconds, it shimmers: glossy percussion, bright synths flickering in the background, and a beat that gently ricochets in your headphones. But beneath that glow, there’s a quiet ache. “Oh, I miss You,” Ms Ray sings in the chorus. “And as time rolls on and on/ It’s still sad.” \
Speaking about the collaboration, Ms Ray shared: “Once the lyrics and melody came, I knew immediately that it needed to be a duet, and Marcus (Nourished By Time) was the number one person I wanted to ask, there was no other option in my mind. I really love duets between male and female voices in particular, the way voices come together. As soon as I listened to the vocals Marcus sent I realised that he’d lyrically, melodically and harmonically elevated the track to be something even better. Everybody misses somebody. For me, writing and singing this track was really cathartic. An antidote to the pain that accompanies loss.”
