NINA is the solo project of Nina Cristante, the captivating voice behind the London-based post-punk trio bar italia. With her unique blend of lo-fi sounds and experimental touches, her music has a magnetic quality that draws you in. This is certainly true of her latest single, the moody and theatrical “Till The Devil Gets Bored.”
The consuming track carries a mysterious energy and creates an almost cinematic experience, like a dream you can’t quite place. Over hazy, reverb-drenched guitars, NINA’s vocals unfold like a slow-burning confession: “I carry a tray loaded with guilt / It’s hard to balance so I’m always scared / It bends my reason / Becomes a prison.” She’s also released a video she co-directed with Simon Mercer.
