O Slow is the ethereal pop project of Brooklyn-based multi-instrumentalist Jacqui Miranda, whom we introduced to you last year with Every Time I Look In The Mirror. For 2025, Miranda has exciting plans, as she prepares to release her new EP, Night Shine, Through Me, in just a few weeks. From this project, the track “Every Time You Come Back, You Come Colder” broadens her palette as it weaves 90s trip-hop influences into her dreamy soundscape.
“I wrote this song during the anger stage of grief,” Miranda shares, “after my best friend decided she no longer wanted me in her life and traveled alone to Iceland for a month.” She reflects on the inspiration behind the song: “Before our parting, I noticed a pattern. Each time she returned from one of her long solo trips, she seemed colder, more distant, until one day she left for good.”
