“Smile On A Screen” is taken from Oscar Jerome‘s “Where Are Your Branches?” EP.
Back in January, we labelled Oscar Jerome‘s single “Smile On A Screen” as Thunderclap. Since then, the London-based newcomer has released a whole EP, “Where Are Your Branches?”, as well as a 2-track remix EP some days ago. Today, the artist is back with the Eda Feola-directed video of “Smile On A Screen” and about the animated visuals, he detailed:
In this song I’m discussing the unrealistic expectations we have of life, success, love and lust because of the airbrushed reality we are fed through media. I wanted this to be reflected in the video that shows me, the band and James Massiah as cut-out photos placed in crazy, unreal settings. Everything from the way we move to how the scenes are set out like pieces of art, are to help show the way we have completely lost contact with the world around us.
Following up on two sold out shows in London, Oscar Jerome has also announced a series of gigs through the UK for September:
20/09 Brighton Hope & Ruin
21/09 Glasgow Hug & Pint
22/09 Leeds Headrow House
25/09 London Village Underground
27/09 Nottingham Bodega
28/09 Manchester Soup Kitchen
29/09 Bristol The Louisiana
