Quiet Light announces new mixtape, shares “Berlin” video

"Berlin" is taken from Quiet Light's upcoming mixtape, Blue Angel Sparkling Silver 2, out April 24 via True Panther.

Quiet Light, the project of Texas-based producer, singer, and multi-instrumentalist Riya Mahesh, has signed to True Panther, the music home of inspiring artists like Oklou, Grace Ives, and Model/Actriz. Alongside the news, she’s announced her new mixtape, Blue Angel Sparkling Silver 2, arriving April 24.

Since her 2020 debut EP, Mahesh has been steadily releasing a string of self-produced records that blur the lines between ambient, electronic, and folk, creating what she describes as “dream sequences.” Her music lives somewhere between memory and imagination, and honestly, we can’t get enough of those atmospheric textures. “This record is for people who dream about what their life could be like,” she says about her upcoming mixtape, that she’s been creating alongside the demanding rhythm of medical school.

The first single, “Berlin,” opens that world a little wider. Carried by soft synth layers, subtle electronic flourishes, and a wistful saxophone performance from Henry Solomon, the track balances warmth and melancholy. It also comes with a video, directed by Richard Phillip Smith.
