Following up her beautiful debut single “Young & Thriving”, Rodes Rollins</em> recently shared her sophomore release. “Wes Come Back” is a délicatesse, a song about her young lover with the backdrop of Western movie soundtracks and psychedelic folk music.
Even if Rodes Rollins now calls NYC and Los Angeles her home, the artist originally comes from Colorado. Indeed, she was born and raised in the Rocky Mountains of Boulder and this could explain where she drew the inspiration for this second single. Listening to “Wes Come Back” is an instant immersion into a western movie whose soundtrack would be signed by Ennio Morricone. Rollins brings her own touch, though, with a psychedelic twist that does not take anything away from the emotions she conveys.
“Wes Come Back”, which features drums by Matthew Compton of Electric Guest, is a song about Rodes Rollins‘ young love, Wes. About this relationship, she detailed:
“Wes Come Back,” as well as her debut “Young & Thriving,” should both be featured on her upcoming “Young Adult EP.”
