Rosie Carney shares her experience in outstanding new single: “Awake Me”

Irish folk artist Rosie Carney is reborn from the ashes after an unfortunate stint on a major label. At 19 only, she just shared an outstanding new single: “Awake Me”.

Rosie Carney is knocking on the doors of adulthood but despite her young age, she has experienced a lot of steps and her maturity can definetely be heard in her new single “Awake Me”. On a delicate and aerial folk instrumental made of beautiful plucked arpeggio, the artist implicitly and poetically sings about the fact that she had to overcome depression and anorexia half of her young life.

“Awake Me” could also be interpreted as a cry for help and support. As awareness about mental health, eating disorders, or even burn-outs have now gained much more attention than in the past, Rosie appears as an artist who humbly wants to share her own experience to help the others. You can notably read a poignant post she wrote on her personal blog and where she details what she has lived so far and how she is becoming the person she always wanted to be.
