RYAN Playground‘s covers are available on her Bandcamp page.
Montreal’s multi-talented musician Genevieve Ryan Martel, better known as RYAN Playground, has just shared two covers of Alice Deejay, taken from their 2000 album Who Needs Guitars Anyway?. Paradoxically, her ethereal versions were recorded… with a guitar. A club track with melancholy chords, “Better Off Alone” has always been one of our all-time favourite Eurodance tracks so it’s quite delightful to get lost in this crystalline reinterpretation.
In the same vein, she recently covered Wheatus’s angst-pop track “Teenage Dirtbag” but, this time, we got obsessed with the nightcore-friendly edit, perfect to burn some calories in your living room.
