Brooklyn-based artist sadie is stepping into a new chapter, and if you’re a regular around here, you’ve probably already heard her music in our weekly Forecast Tape playlist. After earning praise for her earlier EPs Nowhere and Tides, and sharing stages with a range of forward-thinking artists, sadie quietly pulled back from live shows to focus on writing. Now she’s back, newly signed to Bloody Knuckles, and ready to open the door to what comes next.
Her new single “Arms Wide” marks that return in full color. Produced by sadie herself, the track moves beyond club-ready minimalism and leans into something more layered and emotionally exposed—confessional autotune hooks floating over sweeping strings, textured guitars, breakbeats, and glitchy, warped details. It’s vulnerable, but restless. As sadie explains, “This song is about confronting other people’s apathy, and my own. It’s about caring too much, and not enough. It’s also about loosening a grip on tightly held ideas and beliefs––noticing the things we cling to, and the sense of freedom that can be found in letting them go.” The track comes with a music video, directed by Sharleen Chidiac.
