We don’t know a lot about dream pop duo San Jua but who cares when we can listen to their amazing new single ‘Swirls In The Swimming Pool’.
Following up to the previously released ‘Laid To Waste’ and ‘Break Your Fall’, San Jua unveils a third single this year. ‘Swirls In The Swimming Pool’ is the meeting point of Mags’ aerial vocals and silences, hypnotic pulsing bass and melancholic piano loop. The track sounds almost unreal and uncapturable, like the sand and water in our hands when we play at the beach.
The wild and free duo self-produces every aspect of the project and they have enough material now to play live gigs as a 4-piece band (soon in London apparently). So if their hard drive is full of sound, can we expect more music for this year? They might move beyond demos to actually putting out another single in 2017 but maybe they might not. We’ll wait and see, no other choice anyway.
