Disiniblud's Kerry McCoy remix of “Blue Rags, Raging Wind” is out via Smugglers Way.

Disiniblud, the collaborative project of Rachika Nayar and Nina Keith, recently released their self-titled debut album, a project that feels both daring and deeply personal. The record, shared via Smugglers Way/Domino in July, weaves together post-rock swells, glitchy electronica, neoclassical flourishes, and even moments of pop clarity. At its heart is what the duo describe as a “wordless conversation,” a dialogue between their distinct musical voices that explores themes of transformation, reinvention, and childlike wonder.

Now, just ahead of an ambitious tour across North America and Europe this fall, Disiniblud have unveiled a fresh take on one of the album’s standout tracks, “Blue Rags, Raging Wind” (featuring Amigone). The remix comes courtesy of Deafheaven guitarist Kerry McCoy, who reimagines the piece with pulsing drum and bass rhythms, cinematic synth layers, flickering tremolo textures, and his unmistakable guitar presence. Where the original leaned into neoclassical grace, McCoy’s version surges forward with an almost cinematic energy, making it both a tribute to and a transformation of the song’s theme of childlike joy.

"Defense" is taken from Panda Bear's Sinister Grift, out February 28 2025 on Domino.

A few months after the Reset Mariachi EP, Noah Lennox, known by his stage name Panda Bear, has revealed plans for his seventh solo album, Sinister Grift, set to release on February 28, 2025. The announcement comes with the release of the album’s first single, “Defense,” a collaboration with Cindy Lee, who has been making waves in the music scene this year with their album Diamond Jubilee.

“Defense” represents a shift in Panda Bear‘s sound, moving away from his typically electronic-focused style towards a more organic approach. The track features Lennox‘s signature multi-layered vocals, complemented by acoustic percussion, lush harmonies, and stunning guitar work from Cindy Lee.

The album was crafted at Lennox’s Estudio Campo in Lisbon, Portugal. Josh Dibb (Deakin), a fellow Animal Collective member, co-produced the album and contributed to its creation. The project also includes contributions from Rivka Ravede of Spirit of the Beehive.

About the collaboration on Sinister Grift, Josh Dibb shared in a press statement: “Creating this album felt like a cherished and welcoming return. Noah and I began recording music on multitrack cassette back in 1991. Now, 32 years later, we’re still working in a similar way—just two friends in a room, exploring sounds and emotions that resonate with us. I take great pride in what we’ve crafted together. Sinister Grift embodies the songwriter I’ve known for over three decades, yet it also represents a fresh chapter for Noah. I couldn’t be prouder of the outcome.”

Ela Minus will release her highly anticipated second album, DIA, on January 17, 2025, via Domino.

Ela Minus is back! The Colombian multi-talented artist has revealed that her highly anticipated second album, DIA, is on the way. Alongside this announcement, she shared the album’s lead single and video, “Broken.” The new album follows her critically acclaimed 2020 debut, acts of rebellion.

DIA is described as an album about growth and transformation. It reflects a journey of self-discovery taken at a careful, thoughtful pace. The songs explore the question of what comes next—after we’ve been broken, but before we’re broken for good.

For the project, Minus‘ songwriting has also evolved. After three years of carrying fragments of songs across Colombia, Mexico, and in rented apartments and hotel rooms across North America and Europe, she thought the record was complete. But something was missing with the lyrics: telling more about herself. This step towards introspection can be heard in “Broken,” as she sings: “Mother, I’ve been a fool, I looked then in / Even when you said, do not listen / Went to hell and back, left all the way / Now I’m broken.”

Ela Minus also co-directed the video with Losmose and announced some tour dates.

10 years after Melody’s Echo Chamber, French artist Melody Prochet will return with a third studio album, Emotional Eternal. The project was crafted in Stockholm with the same team of Bon Voyage (2018). “I hope the record has that uplifting quality,” she stated. “I wanted to be more grounded and mindful through the process. I guided the sessions with simplicity — a contrast with the maximalism of Bon Voyage and the wilderness of my delusions. I made some big and impactful decisions and changes to my life. It took me to where it is peaceful, and I think the record reflects this. It’s more direct.”

Prochet has also shared the scintillating first single, “Looking Backward,” which she describes has a “happy accident”. Watch the accompanying animation, which was created by Hyoyon Paik, and pre-order the album via Bandcamp.

“dominique” is taken from Ela Minus‘s debut album, acts of rebellion, out October 23 on Domino.

In a few days, Ela Minus will unleash her debut album acts of rebellion, which draws inspiration from the beauty of tiny, daily acts of revolution. The Colombia-born, Brooklyn-based hardware musician already gave us a string of striking singles, including the defiant “megapunk” and “they told us it was hard, but they were wrong“.

For the latest advance single, “dominique,” she calms the pace down but keeps the dark, rebellious edge that permeates the whole record. The track sounds like an ode to anti-conformism, for those who want to create their own, small world, and live inside it, as she explains in a statement. Watch the accompanying visuals, courtesy of DR.ME and Ela herself, and pre-order the album via Bandcamp.

Austra‘s new single, “Risk It”, is out now on Domino.

Following up on her third album Future Politics, released back in 2017, multi-talented artist Katie Stelmanis, returns as Austra with a brand new song and video. On the playful “Risk It”, the Toronto-based synth-pop artist pitched her vocals sky-high to encapsulate the thrill and the fear of leaving a consuming relationship. For the first time, she worked with external producers, as Rodaidh McDonald and Joseph Shabason assisted her on production duties.

About the accompanying visuals, director Jasmin Mozzafari explained:

[su_quote]I wanted to construct a narrative piece that takes place over the course of one night, focusing on a protagonist caught at the inevitable crossroads that exist when love falls apart. Ultimately, I saw “Risk It” as a song about the fear of being vulnerable. At the beginning, the protagonist tries to do anything to evade this feeling; by the end, they are forced to face it.[/su_quote]

“Dark & Handsome” is taken from Blood Orange‘s mixtape Angel’s Pulse, out now via Domino.

A few months ago, Blood Orange shared his mixtape Angel’s Pulse, that he described as “somewhat of an epilogue” to his last album Negro Swan. Following up on the “Benzo” visuals, he has now unveiled a clip for “Dark & Handsome,” a highlight off the mixtape that we featured in our Best Tracks of 2019. The self-directed and edited visuals also include an appearance from Toro y Moi, who is also present on the track. Watch below.
