“taking time” is taken from shn shn‘s upcoming EP, e.strage.d, due out later this year.
Toronto’s queer Black electronic producer and singer-songwriter Shanika Maria aka shn shn returns with “taking time,” an experimental track drawing from ambient and bedroom pop, which teases the release of her new EP. Rooted around themes of duality between darkness and lightness, longing and growth, the project is an invitation to meditate, contemplate and face the strangeness, liberation, and fear of the unknown.
“‘taking time’ is a reminder that when life gets heavy to return back to yourself and ‘take time’,” she stated.
