Berlin-based artists Leoblu and World Wild Web are no strangers to playing with musical boundaries. Leoblu, the alias of Scandinavian artist Julia Carlsson, crafts ethereal yet raw soundscapes, blending haunting vocals with minimalistic yet striking production. Meanwhile, World Wild Web, the moniker of French producer Manuel Jesus, is known for his eclectic fusion of organic and electronic club sounds, psychedelia, and euphoric pop. Following up to their collaborative single “Utopia,”released in 2024, the two artists recently decided to unite once again for a new song.
Their latest collaboration, “wet hungry wet”, is an evocative exploration of primal desire and deep human connection. Embracing vulnerability and instinct, the single immerses listeners in hypnotic rhythms and bold, shape-shifting synths. Leoblu’s soulful voice glides effortlessly over World Wild Web’s pulsating production, which creates a visceral soundscape that resonates on both a personal and universal level.
Reflecting on the track, Leoblu describes it as: “a reflection on the human experience in its most unfiltered form. But even more so, it’s about choosing life. It’s about making the conscious decision to live and to make the most out of the beautiful, messy human experience.” This theme of deep emotional engagement is echoed in the track’s immersive production, where each beat and harmony feels like a pulse of longing and release.
Adding a striking visual dimension to the song, a music video directed by Hannah Gonzalez accompanies the release. Filmed in a Berlin bathtub, the video enhances the song’s themes of intimacy, vulnerability, and desire.
