Nourished by Time is gearing up for a big year. His upcoming album The Passionate Ones, due out August 22, follows the critically-acclaimed Erotic Probiotic 2 and last year’s stellar Catching Chickens EP. The project’s lead single, “Max Potential,” offered a taste of what’s to come: emotionally raw, genre-blurring songwriting rooted in honesty and ambition.
Now, Marcus Brown, the Baltimore mastermind behind the Nourished by Time moniker, has dropped another new track from the album: “9 2 5.” Leaning into the rhythms of Baltimore club, the track sparkles with swirling production while delving into the grind of working life. It’s a personal anthem about balancing the demands of a day job with the often thankless hustle of making art.
Brown recently made a splash at Primavera Sound in Barcelona, and he’s just kicked off a sprawling tour that stretches across the U.S., Canada, and Europe. Along the way, he’ll be joined by artists like Zsela, Tony Bontana, Laura Groves, and Joviale on select dates. He will also be also playing at the C2C Festival in Turin this year, and we’ll definitely be on the front row to see him.
