Singer-Songwriter A.O. Gerber shares arresting new song “All I’ve Known”

“All I’ve Known” is the second single lifted from A.O. Gerber‘s debut album, Another Place To Need, to be released on May 22 via Hand In Hive and Copper Mouth Records.

Los Angeles based, North County born singer-songwriter Olivia Gerber, better known as A.O. Gerber, is readying the release of her debut album, which she co-produced alongside Madeline Kenney. Following on from “In The Morning,” she’s now returning with a timely new single, “All I’ve Known.” Starting as an introspective lullaby, the track builds up throughout its immersive imagery and lush arrangements, eventually morphing into an epic, 6-minute rumination about longing, vulnerability and guiltiness. About this new offering, she detailed:

I wrote this song almost four years ago but it’s coincidentally very much about feeling socially and emotionally isolated. I was thinking a lot about how we’re all inevitably doomed to repeat situations that feel familiar and safe to us, even if they don’t feel good. This song is about trying to do things differently but recognizing you don’t have a model for what that looks like.
