After the release of his debut track “Your Side,” Hertfordshire’s native Petrie released his second single “To Swim” via Good Groove Records.
Creating a natural bridge between sweet pop with deep electronic sounds, the artist is leaving us with a taste of perfection. Opening with some basic vocals and a synth line, the track jumps into a bass-driven place where it is almost impossible not to dance. The song is simple, yet full of details, efficient as any pop songs. Inspired by James Blake and Jamie XX, Petrie is graving his name in the alt-pop landscape.
Speaking on the song, the artist explained:
“To Swim” is both a series of observations on hedonism and a cautionary tale with an unnerving description of comfort obsessed youth.
His raw lyrics, adventurous electronic vibes, we can tell you for sure that we will following Petrie‘s career from very close. His debut EP is set to be released on 2017 and for now you follow him on Facebook, Soundcloud, Twitter and Instagram. You can also listen to his previous track “Your Side” below.
