Carla dal Forno is back. At the end of this month, the Australian artist and NTS radio host will release her new album Confession, her first full-length since Come Around, which came out in 2022. The new record was introduced by the understated and instantly captivating single “Going Out”, already featured in our Best Songs of 2026 playlist. Described as “an album of quiet upheaval”, Confession explores closeness that arrives unexpectedly, where stability and desire gently collide.
The second taster, “Under The Covers”, leans into something softer and more grounded. Built on a sparse, almost hypnotic arrangement, the dreamy track captures the quiet rhythm of a relationship that settles into everyday life. It’s less about big moments and more about the small and familiar ones that slowly start to mean everything. You can hear that feeling throughout, especially in lines like “Under the covers we’re alone sometimes and you’re talking to me about your day”, where nothing much happens, yet everything is there. As Carla puts it, it’s a kind of love “that builds slowly in shared routines, small gestures, and the comfort of being understood without needing to explain yourself… where intimacy shows up in ordinary moments, and understanding becomes its own kind of language between two people.” Watch the accompanying visualizer, created using paintings by Ruth O’Leary, below.
