Netherlands-based four piece Dakota make their North American Debut with the release of their song “Icon”. The group brings with them all the dream pop we needed with a touch of garage rock sounds and a lot of girl power. “Icon” is a perfectly put-together guitar tune, and is also followed by a lively and good-humored video.
The track toys with exuberant loops, Beach House-y lo fi allure, and sober melodies. With their Amsterdam hometown already on lockdown, the group has set their sights on the US underground.
Dakota is formed by Lisa Brammer (vocals), Lana Kooper (bass plus vocals), Annemarie Van Der Born (percussion and backup) and Tessa Raadman (guitar and backup) have a new project titled “Leda” – a six-track EP – which blends vibrant guitar riffs with indie-pop roots.
