Washington State native Spencer Sult, the creative force behind Generifus, has been shaping the sound of this indie rock and country band since 2005. Following the release of 2023’s Rearrangel, Sult returned to the studio, collaborating with longtime bandmates Wilson Caicedo and Alex Fermanis, as well as Seattle musician Jonny Gundersen. With additional contributions from Karl Blau and Allyson Foster, they crafted Summerberrys, a new album that tells stories of coming of age in the Pacific Northwest, subtle interpersonal struggles, mundane moments, and reflections on a world that feels broken but resistant to change.
To introduce the 8-track album, the band recently released “Waking Winter,” a laid-back and groovy rock track infused with country vibes and a bittersweet sense of nostalgia. Listen and support below.
