Glints

Glints
Because Belgium is not only about French fries, beer, chocolate, waffles and Brussel sprouts, we introduce you every week a band from our beautiful country. This week, we present you Glints.

Glints is a “electronic poetic hip-hop” project lead by the Antwerp-based Jan Lemmens. Helped by Jergan Callebaut, one of the members from the electronic Belgian band Vuurwerk and by the guitarist/producer Mathias Bervoets.
The singer is the new member of the Run Tell Secrecy collective.

“Dread” arrived around two months ago on the internet, a dark-toned song expressing the anger of becoming numb and indifferent to things that were once important. “Dread” resonates like a mantra during the whole song, to make sure you’ll end up with Glints state of mind.

“Darling, your fair hair no longer seems rare.”

In addition to the song itself, the 3D video expresses a creepy solitude which completes the foggy lyrics.
Animated by Filip Anthonissen, Screenplay by Filip Anthonissen and Glints himself.

Then arrived this week, “Sirens” the second single taken from the upcoming EP due to be released this December.

“Bronze on gold and gold on red
Drag me down to your ocean bed
Sing your air and reel me in
The sweets of sin will soon sin in.”

The hook, will give you some great Alt-J feelings while the flow could give you The Streets vibes.
Even if the song seems brighter than “Dread”, the background will drill deep into your body to impose its darker side.

“Beauty and delicacy
I head for the epiphany
But I find just
leaves me dry and unsatisfied”
