Lau Ro announces sophomore album, shares video for dreamlike single “Conclusão”

"Conclusão" is taken from Lau Ro's upcoming new album, Lau, out June 26, 2026 via Mexican Summer.

Born in São Paulo and now based in Brighton, Brazilian artist Lau Ro first caught wider attention not just through their lush 2024 debut Cabana, but also as part of Jessica Pratt’s touring band, where they played percussion during the European run of the Here in the Pitch tour. Now, Lau Ro is unveiling a new chapter with the announcement of their sophomore album Lau, set for release in June via Mexican Summer.

The new record feels like a natural deepening of everything they’ve been exploring so far. Written during a period marked by physical pain and emotional upheaval, Lau unfolds as a tender, introspective collection shaped by resilience and transformation. “Pain comes for everyone in some way or another, but you choose whether to let it harden you or allow it to soften you,” Lau Ro shares, choosing the latter and channeling that softness into music that feels both vulnerable and radiant. Drawing from Brazilian traditions while embracing experimentation, the album moves fluidly between languages, textures, and moods, forming what they describe as “a personal diary of someone who feels like a stranger in this world.”

Alongside the announcement, Lau Ro has shared the gorgeous first single. “Conclusão” is a haunting track that captures the album’s quiet intensity and layered beauty. It arrives with a video directed by Wolfgang Dubieniec, with nostalgic tones, that perfectly matches the track’s introspective, softly dreamlike atmosphere. Watch and support via Bandcamp below.
