Magdalena Bay has been on fire this year, with the release of their universally acclaimed second album Imaginal Disk and their Imaginal Mystery Tour to support the record. And it seems the duo has no plans to slow down. Just after a quick teaser yesterday, they’ve just dropped a remix of “Image” by none other than Grimes. Mica Tenenbaum and Matthew Lewin have long shown their admiration for Grimes, sharing mashups like “Oblivion Forever” and “Gwen vs Grimes: A Magdalena Bay Mashup” in their early days.

This new remix, titled “Image (Grimes Special),” dives into darker territory than the original track. It opens with a pitched-up voice intoning, “The seats are empty. The theater is dark. So, why do you keep dancing?” Whether this remix will feature on a forthcoming remix album or a deluxe version of Imaginal Disk is still under wraps. Stay tuned!
