Magdalena Bay‘s new EP mini mix vol. 1 is out July 19. [Pre-save]

Following up on the amazing “Only If You Want It,” Los Angeles-based pop act Magdalena Bay are back with a new single, “Mine,” and the announcement of a mini mixtape. As good news never come alone, the duo, consisting of Mica Tenenbaum and Matthew Lewin, has also joined the Luminelle Recordings roster. On their glitchy and cosmic new single, Magdalena Bay build a bridge between pop of the past and pop of the future and depict an apocalyptic love story. About the single, Mica detailed:

I’ve been thinking about the feeling of being frozen in time, of being stuck and waiting for something to happen while life passes you by. I took those feelings and crafted a story about heartbreak. The result is Mine, a retro-wave cyber ballad about the passing of time, inspired sonically by Kanye West and Prince.
