“Umbra” is the title track from MIIV‘s debut EP, out May 14.
In a couple of weeks, Brooklyn up and coming artist MIIV will unveil their debut EP, “Umbra”. The headphone junky and DIY artist has also recently announced the title track as first single; an intricate R&B track that stands somewhere the atmospheric R&B of Kelela and the electronic experimentations of Saliyah.
“The song is a sadistic dance, you bend yourself to impress this one person to the point of unhappiness. It’s tiring, but you can’t stop, despite your frustration you’re doing everything just so they might finally see you,” they explained about he track. “I produced and recorded the track during the middle of a move. I was spending my time at a friends apartment, producing, partying and coming back late with a bunch of take out.”
