After working for a few months into her debut track, newcomer Daiza is ready for the big leap. The result is “Metal Mouth” inspired by a drug experience.
After looking for her sound for a while, the artist got the inspiration by some of her young experiences. Reminding the likes of Anna Of The North, the young artist took some time to answer our questions about her debut, her inspirations and what we can expect from her in the future.
Highclouds: Can you introduce yourself to our readers who don’t know you yet?
I’m Daiza. I’m a songwriter and producer in Boston.
How did you start making music?
I’ve been singing the majority of my life. My dad bought me a guitar when I was about 13 and I’ve been writing music since.
What can you tell us about your debut song “Metal Mouth”?
I wrote “Metal Mouth” around this time last year. Once I got into producing my own music, this was the first song I started to develop. It’s silly but this track was actually inspired by a MDMA trip where I was feeling quite detached. That’s why it’s sonically hazy and lyrically loose.
“I love getting inspired by my surroundings – places and people and dope music.” – Daiza
How did you pick your artist name?
My mom’s boyfriend and I were driving down the PCH listening to the Beatles and spitballing pseudonyms until “Daiza” just stuck.
Where do you find your inspirations?
I love getting inspired by my surroundings – places and people and dope music.
What can we expect from you in the future?
New single coming out April 13th.
Do you have any song to recommend us right now?
