Toronto has always been known for its flourishing artistic scene. Just by naming Drake, Majid Jordan and DVSN, you know what we are talking about. Newcomer Joël Lobban is here to convince us even more, that Toronto is the place to be.
Combining electronic sensual sounds with R&B smooth vocals, it is hard to resist to the charm of his debut track “Reload”. Produced by japain, the track starts as a sensual ballad, emphazing mainly the vocals, while the second part of the song will surprise you by the way it will make you dance. Inviting you to strip, you will not resist to the charm of the new Canadian crooner. He took some time to answer our questions about his debut, his inspirations and his town.
Highclouds: Can you introduce yourself to our readers who don’t know you yet?
It’s your boy Joël Lobban! Coming from the east end of the City, I reside in a little town called Ajax and music is my passion.
How did you start making music?
I’ve been singing since I was five, started at church singing in the children’s choir. When I got older I branched off and did my own thing.
What can you tell us about your debut song “Reload”?
My new single “Reload” is just one of the many pieces of the puzzle. I talk a little about the things I’ve been through and what I wanna make for myself. Your past doesnt define you so anytime you’re feeling down just reload and start over.
“I’ll be making a lot of noise releasing a couple new tracks” – Joël Lobban

I’m super proud of my city we have so much to offer there’s talent everywhere.
