Straight out of Los Angeles, paer is the latest musical adventure from longtime creative partners Alex Stills and Anina Denove. These two have been making magic together for years, and now they’re channeling that deep connection into a fresh indie-pop project that’s as honest as it is adventurous. With a sound that’s lush, cinematic, and emotionally charged, paer dives into the messy beauty of real life—those quiet shifts, deep feelings, and everything in between.
Released via Anxiety Blanket Records, “Temperate Danger” marks paer’s powerful debut. It is a bold, otherworldly exploration of emotional turbulence and self-discovery. Described by the duo as “an alluring and confrontational ode to our inner saboteurs — the ones that show up even when everything seems fine,” the track blends airy, hypnotic vocals with a raw, gritty edge. It’s the sound of standing on a fault line, constantly shifting, questioning, bracing. Co-produced with Mike De Luccia and mixed by Jason Kingsland, “Temperate Danger” pushes back against a music scene that often favors polish over truth, creating space for messy, honest expression.
It also comes with a video directed by Emily “Cosmo” Gold and filmed by Nina Raj and Erik Shute.
