Tan Cologne announces third album, shares “Cloud of Mirrors” video

Tan Cologne's third album, Unknown Beyond, is out June 20 via Labrador Records.

New Mexico-based duo Tan CologneLauren Green and Marissa Macias—have long explored the interplay between nature, memory, and sound. With roots in the ethereal landscapes of the Southwest, their music draws on the mystical and the elemental. Renowned for their introspective style and layered soundscapes, they’ve steadily built a reputation for crafting immersive, otherworldly albums that speak to the spirit as much as the senses.

Their third full-length release, Unknown Beyond, is set to arrive June 20th via Labrador Records. This new chapter reaches upward rather than outward, aiming for the skies and the great unknown. According to the press release, it’s a dreamy, metaphysical exploration—an attempt to connect with something greater than ourselves. Created in solitude at their Taos home, the album reflects on personal loss and change, using celestial imagery and intuitive moments as lyrical maps through grief and transformation.

The first glimpse into this new world comes with the track “Cloud of Mirrors.” It’s a woozy, slow-motion drift through shimmering guitars and glistening vocals, all anchored by gentle, pulsing beats. The duo describe the song as “about life happening to you and having to deal with whatever is handed to you… knowing we are all interconnected and a part of the disaster and the beauty.” The accompanying video matches the song’s surreal mood, inviting viewers to get lost in a dreamlike haze.
