Taken from her debut EP “Yesterday’s News,” “Pools” is the second single from emotional artist Esbie Fonte, a downtempo ballad exploring the sentiment of epic love. Using the echoes of children laughing and splashing water, the track is the more nostalgic track of the EP.
Creating a cinematic atmosphere through the entire track, her voice is full of melancholy reminding the sounds of Cocorosie and Sigur Rós. Recorded around her home city San Francisco in California, the track is incredibly touching, creating a storyline of memories thanks to the vintage effects.
“You are the only, and I am the only, so we’ll just be lonely together.” – Esbie Fonte in “Pools”
