Many of us have experienced in their lives the feeling of not belonging after moving out from the place we were born. This is the story of singer/songwriter Priyya who was born in Nepal, raised in the USA. The only way for her to express her divided experience was through music.
Inspired by her mother, who was also a classical Nepalese singer, she uses her voice to make us travel in her family history. Mixing different inspirations raging from cello to electronic R&B vibes, Priyya sings in English and Nepalese to showcase her true self without any veil. “Every fight worth fighting, live a life worth dying” she sings, reminding us that there is nothing more universal than the message of love and loss.
