From my base in Madrid, I’m lucky to constantly stumble upon exciting new artists, and Rebe is one of those discoveries that instantly sticked with me. I first connected with her universe through her recent collaboration with Amore, the artist behind Top Hits, Ballads, etc…, one of our favourite albums of 2025. Now Rebe, real name Rebeca Díaz Larraín, steps forward once again with “Brilla el sol”, which also serves as the second preview of her upcoming third studio album, expected this spring.
On “Brilla el sol”, Rebe, who recently began a residency at NTS Radio, leans into shimmering bells and delicate percussion. The atmosphere feels hazy, almost crepuscular, with something gently ceremonial running through it. It might sound cliché to call it Lynchian, but that’s honestly the first thing that comes to mind. She composed the track herself and produced it alongside Otro, during a summer night in a small village in Salamanca. The first sketches came after attending a cover concert at a municipal swimming pool, and you can actually hear the echo of real church bells in the background. And the video of “Brilla el sol,” co-directed by Rebe and Merci Xula, deepens that dreamy mood.
