The last time Snuggle made an appearance, they layered bittersweet vocal melodies over oblique guitar riffs on “Marigold.” Now, the Copenhagen duo—Andrea Thuesen (Baby in Vain) and former Liss producer Vilhelm Strange—return with “Dust,” a track that turns summer love into a hazy dream unfolding against a world on the brink.
Released via the beloved Danish label Escho, “Dust” channels the eerie feeling that everything might be unraveling. A hypnotic blend of funky drummer loops and dream-pop guitar textures underpins Thuesen’s breathy vocals, which drift like heatwaves as she sings of love in a burning landscape: “Burning cities, cicadas silent / Everything is dying.” The contrast is striking.
As the band describes it: “Dust is our love song for an apocalypse—sunburnt skin, melting ice cream, and chaos humming in the back of everyone’s mind. Miss David Lynch.“
The song feels dreamy yet unsettling, like a beautiful mirage fading into darkness. If the world is ending, Snuggle’s “Dust” makes for a fitting final soundtrack.
