Copenhagen duo Snuggle — Andrea Thuesen (of Baby in Vain) and Vilhelm Strange (formerly of Liss) — have been weaving dreamy, elliptical singles like “Marigold” and “Dust” that quietly pull you in. With their latest release, “Woman Lake,” out now via Danish label Escho, they take a more grounded approach without losing their surreal edge.
“Woman Lake” opens with raw acoustic strums and sweeping strings, slowly building into a chorus that feels almost radio-friendly without being cheesy. It’s their most vivid and heartfelt track to date, where Andrea imagines a place she’s never actually visited, drawing on secondhand memories that feel oddly personal.
As she puts it: “I have memories of a place I’ve never been — never been to saint Paul or the Cass County lakes — I remember vividly though getting mosquito bites on my eyelids and cannonballing into cloudy waters. Because of stories told by a dear friend.”
It’s a song full of longing, distance, and strangely familiar warmth — like remembering a dream someone else had.
