It’s not a surprise to anyone that Scandinavia is the spot to find new innovative pop artists. Stockholm-based artist Alessandra is not an exception, since her debut track “Your River” is one huge banger you’ll remember the entire year (and beyond).
Winning the Denniz Pop Award for “Rookie Artist of the Year” should be enough for you to know that you should consider her seriously, as previous winner Tove Lo testifies. The artist writes, produces and sings all of her songs, as she has been creating music for her entire life. She took some time to answer to our questions about her debut, inspirations and future in the Swedish pop scene.
Highclouds: Can you introduce yourself to our readers who don’t know you yet?
I’m an artist, songwriter and producer based in Stockholm with roots in Sweden, Switzerland and France. I spend all my days writing music in the studio. I recently won the Denniz Pop Awards in the category “Rookie Artist of The Year”.
“As a songwriter it’s perfect to live in Stockholm” – Alessandra
How did you start making music?
But I’ve been making music all my life, as long as I can remember!
What can you tell us about your debut track “Your River”?
“Your River” is a dramatic depiction of a summer crush. That feeling of wanting to dive deeper into someone and letting go of your pride.
Where do you find your inspirations?
You are in charge of every creative process of your music. How does this process work for you?
I usually tend to write songs with the piano or a guitar and after that start producing it. Usually the best songs are written at night when it’s dark outside.
What do you think about the Swedish music?
I think the Swedish music scene is great. There’s a lot of good music coming out of Sweden and as a songwriter it’s perfect to live in Stockholm.
What can we expect from you in the future?
Do you have any song to recommend us right now?
I love the vibe of The Naked Eye‘s “Raise Up”
