Wild Beasts announce new LP, share “Get My Bang”

Wild Beasts have roared back into action with the announcement of their upcoming album “Boy King” and by mauling us with a new track and an accompanying video. Their latest release “Get My Bang” is the first track off their new LP and it is an edgy and gritty track that will please all their fans.

“Get my Bang” starts with a single layer of pitch floating between your headphones before they smash you with a funky drum, distorted guitar, and alluring vocals. The video is equally fascinating and gripping with lead singer Hayden Thorpe involved in a strangely Tarantino/Pulp Fiction like street dance which fits the offbeat sound brilliantly. The video for ‘Get My Bang’ was shot in Belgrade and directed by Olivier Groulx who already worked with Arcade Fire, alt-J, and Scott Walker.

“It became apparent that that guitar almost became the character within the songs, that phallic character, the all-conquering male, I’m letting my inner Byron fully out, I thought I’d tucked him away, but he came screaming back like the Incredible Hulk.” Hayden Thorpe

The lead singer speaks like Wild Beasts are back with a vengeance and judging by the evidence within this first track and video we certainly agree. We can’t wait to see what else lies in wait within “Boy King” and can only hope it is more wildly untamed music like this.
