After a decade-long hiatus, LA-based dream-pop duo Bouquet is making a highly anticipated return with their upcoming album, Spellbreaker, set for release this May. The duo—Carolyn Pennypacker Riggs, an interdisciplinary artist, writer, and composer, and Max Foreman, a songwriter, producer, and head of music at Occidental College—strikes a delicate balance between the ethereal soundscapes of Broadcast and the hazy nostalgia of early Beach House. Impossible not to hear the latest on the first single off of the project. “Hold On” is a delicate song about the struggles to keep a connection alive. And a decade after their IN A DREAM EP, the theme feels more relevant than ever. “I know hands get tired, I’m still going to hold,” they sing. Quiet yet commanding, this successful return song proves they still have what it takes to hold on to their fans.
