Diana Hutch and Val Nacho‘s “Désir des îles” is out now.
Lyon-based Diana Hutch and Val Nacho have debuted their new collaboration, “Désir des îles,” a dreamy indie pop cut navigating the fantasy of living on an island. With synth pop arrangements reminiscent of Men I Trust as well as French ‘dream poppers’ such as Laurent Voulzy, who also celebrated the beauty of islands in his career, this ode to escapism brims with nostalgia. This bittersweetness is also palpable in the autumnal accompanying video, directed by Sabrina Duval, in which the two DIY bros explore the misty wilderness (yes there’s an Into The Wild or even Brokeback Mountain vibe). If like us you’re in love with this soothing spleen and this gorgeous melody loaded with alliterations, a full collaborative EP is on the way.
