Petrie deals with male entitlement in club culture in “Slurs”

A few weeks ago, we fell in love with British producer Petrie and his song “To Swim“. He is enchanting us again with his new track “Slurs” taken from his EP of the same name, out via Good Groove.

Deeply inspired by alt-rock and R&B, the new track follows a more mature path than his previous track. His vocals get even more infectious as he plays with different vocal effects that will for sure stick in your head. As the tempo goes up and down during the track, the artist gets to show his entire personality, in between shy, romantic, happy and upbeat. About the track, Petrie explained to us over an email:

The song develops the character explored in “To swim” – switching from a broad hedonistic slant to a darker and more personal look at issues of male aggression/entitlement/assumption in club culture.

You can follow Petrie over Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and Soundcloud.
