In February, Charli XCX released one of the best EP of the year. “Vroom Vroom”, which features production work from PC Music‘s artist Sophie, is a project that let nobody indifferent as she both received very good and very bad reviews for it. Anyway, at HighClouds, we simply adore it as you can read it in our previous EP Alert, and we are now super happy to watch the video for the title track of the EP.
To be just completely honest with you, this is a collaboration we weren’t expecting at all. But now that is done, we are more like “why this collaboration didn’t happen before ?!”. Charli XCX and Sophie have in a way the same type of career : pushing the limits of pop music, creating something new and way more aggressive than the mainstream scene and somehow with magic and talent taking control of it. “Vroom Vroom” is the first draft of this collaboration and the least we can say it’s that it is groundbreaking
Recently, we were talking about Charli XCX who is starring in a BBC Three documentary about pop music and feminism. Today, she is once again in the headlines thanks to the release of “Hand In The Fire”, a Mr Oizo‘s 4-track EP where she is featured! It is available now via Ed Banger/Big Beat.
After 3 or 4 months of work with BBC Three, the documentary starring Charli XCX is finally out. “Charli XCX: The F-Word and Me” deals about feminism and pop music and follows the new pop sensation during her world tour to support her last album “Sucker”.
