In 2021, we were among the first to introduce Vitesse X. Since then, the NYC-based producer, songwriter, and audio engineer – real name Jordan Stern – has built her reputation with the Therma Maxima EP (2021) and her debut album Us Ephemeral the following year. Stern also co-founded Music Website with Chris Burden, a label that has recently released music by Couch Prints. After unveiling “Realize” and “way i luv” earlier this year, Vitesse X has now officially announced her sophomore album, This Infinite. The album credits include Wild Nothing’s Jack Tatum, Finnish pop duo Pearly Drops, Abe Seiferth, Jorge Elbrecht, and Joe Laporta.
Alongside the announcement, Vitesse X shared the ethereal and pulsating single “Eternal,” about which she said:
“Eternal is about the struggle to achieve a ‘sentimental life’ amidst so much greed, destruction and uncertainty in the world. It’s about feeling trapped in a rat race that you never signed up for, longing for life’s basic joys. It’s also about choosing to let go, despite every fiber of your being wanting to stay enraged and grief-stricken. Transcending the ego to achieve a sense of universal presence and unity.“
Reminiscent of her breakout single “Us Ephemeral” (one of our favorite songs of 2022), “Eternal“ also comes with a video shot and directed by Chris Burden. Watch below.
