Justin Bieber – Love Yourself (Willco’s flip of William Singe)
[su_dropcap style=”simple”]I[/su_dropcap] haven’t heard of Willco before, but his flip of William Singe‘s cover of “Love Yourself” will definitely put this Perth-based young producer on your radar. The track smoothly combines Singe‘s original R&aB infused cover with Willco‘s taste for the current future-inspired trends in electronic music. Hollow snaps accompany the vocals before escalating into a full-blown, future bass solo with whompy synths. The two styles alternate well, surprisingly!

Michael Blume – Colors
[su_dropcap style=”simple”]W[/su_dropcap]atch the new video for “Colors”, the latest release from the sensational Michael Blume. Blume burst on to the scene with his hugely popular track “Manufactured Love”. Although only releasing two tracks, he has accumulated a devout following and is already selling out gigs and being calmly compared to the likes of Frank Ocean. Which is quite something.

[PREMIERE] Jack Ü X Ember Island – Where Are U Now (Jimny Remix)
[su_dropcap style=”simple”]I[/su_dropcap]t is interesting how a song can almost do a full circle in styles, by various remixes and covers. Grammy-Awarded Jack Ü‘s amazing single “Where are you now”, which originally features Justin Bieber, started as a stripped back piano ballad before being manipulated by Skrillex and Diplo and turned into one of the hottest dance tracks of the year.
In the cover version of Swedish trio Ember Island, the dance spirit fades away to give some room to sweetness and intimacy . But with the rework of rising producer Jimny, the track takes, again, another turn: the slower version gets back to the floor! The band and the producer both tap into the vulnerability of the lyrics while giving back to the dancefloor what belongs to the dancefloor! Listen to Jimny‘s amazing remix, which transforms the song from a dancefloor filler to a catchy tearjerker!
Newcomer: Dyasono
[su_dropcap style=”simple”]E[/su_dropcap]very Monday, we present a new artist that, in our opinion, deserves your attention. This week, we introduce you to Los Angeles-based singer and multi-instrumentalist Dyasono. The artist, who was born in Indonesia, and then relocated to Malaysia before moving to the US, recently shared her debut single “Hello, You”; a downtempo electro-pop track that is a positive reminder to always stay optimistic about the future.
From Rebel Girls to Dancing Queens
[su_dropcap style=”simple”]I[/su_dropcap] don’t believe in coincidence. As I was taking the subway to hear a lecture on music and its role in the lives of the LGBTQ community, a tune randomly popped up on my Spotify shuffle mode: “Smalltown Boy” by Bronski Beat. To many of my straight friends, it’s a nice tune with a good eighties beat. Sadly to Kate Ryan, plastic queen of Eurodance, it’s a good song to turn into a cringe-worthy ballad. But to me and queers around the world, this song is a true anthem of gay liberation. Why is that?
BELGITUNES: thems
[su_dropcap style=”simple”]F[/su_dropcap]or once, our BELGITUNES section will be devoted to a Frenchy who lives in Belgium. Indeed, the electronic music project thems, which is the stage nickname of solo producer Felix Muhlenbach, has started his musical path in France, in cities like Strasbourg or Dijon. As the artist mentions it, moving gave some color to his music. Therefore, it follows that his debut EP is named “Voyage”. In 5 tracks, thems is taking you places, like if you were watching the landscapes roll past through a train window.
