“Something” is taken from Hater‘s upcoming album, Sincere, out May 6 via Fire Records.
After a first taster, “Bad Luck“, shared last year, Hater announce today their third album (their last long-format effort was Siesta, back in 2018). On Sincere, the Malmö based indie band opt for a darker edge, mixing shoegaze with noisier and bittersweet pop. This more distorted but still super melodic sound is definitely palpable in the MBV-esque lead single, “Something,” which comes with an Adèle Tornberg-directed video. “I invite you into a nostalgic place from the past that is lingering into the present, a place where you can’t tell if you’re enjoying yourself or hiding away,” explains Tornberg.
