Kamaiyah – Out The Bottle

Kamaiyah Out The Bottle

[su_dropcap style=”simple”]B[/su_dropcap]ack in December, we were presenting you Kamaiyah, a young rapper from Oakland, who caught us by surprise with her CT Beats-produced track “How Does It Feel“. The artist, who belongs to the BIG MONEY GANG, seems to be quite generous as she recently shared a whole tape for free. This project, whose title is “A Good Night In The Ghetto”, notably features the song “Out The Bottle”, another catchy tune she made in collaboration with Zay (or Zay’M).

Love Ssega – Hypnotise

[su_dropcap style=”simple”]B[/su_dropcap]ritish-Ugandan artist Love Ssega continues quietly on his path with the release of “Hypnotise”, a new track whose production is signed by Leon Vynehall. It keeps the same recipe than his previous songs: some funky vibes, quite a few elements of pop music, and a lot of dance and fun.

Marissa Nadler – All The Colors Of The Dark

[su_dropcap style=”simple”]A[/su_dropcap]fter the beautiful lead single “Janie In Love“, that is by the way still ranked at the 23rd rank in the HighClouds30 of this week, Boston-based American singer-songwriter, guitarist, and painter Marissa Nadler keeps on preparing the ground for the release of “Strangers”, her seventh album that will be available on May 20, via Sacred Bones/Bella Union. Discover her self-directed and animated black and white video for her new single “All The Colors Of The Dark”.

Moses Sumney – Everlasting Sigh

Moses Sumney Everlasting Sigh

[su_dropcap style=”simple”]L[/su_dropcap]os Angeles-based artist Moses Sumney just shared a studio version of “Everlasting Sigh”, a track that he was used to singing on stage for a couple of years. The song, which as usual unfolds between soul and folk, is simply beautiful and foreshadows the best for his debut album that should be released in the course of the year.

Nick Valentini Collective – Carousel

[su_dropcap style=”simple”]N[/su_dropcap]o need to listen to “Carousel” several times to detect the emotional and creative potential that is hidden behind Nick Valentini Collective‘s music. Indeed, with the video of their soul fulfilling new track, the experimental 8-piece band from Los Angeles easily play and switch between indie, folk, jazz and experimental psychedelic soul. By the way, they have been often dubbed as a “jazz fusion Radiohead”: a label they of course as a compliment even if they think their music should not be categorized. The emotion, that you can feel all along their new track, is always accessible and intense. So close your eyes and let the magic begin.

GOON SOUL - THEM CHANGES THUNDERCAT COVER

[su_dropcap style=”simple”]L[/su_dropcap]ast year, the fabulous Thundercat was releasing “Them Changes”, a collaborative track with Flying Lotus and Kamasi Washington via BRAINFEEDER. It was for sure one of the best of 2015. Thus, covering the track was not an easy task to tempt but Goon Soul wanted yet to take it up. While Thundercat‘s version was totally psychedelic, the artist brings it to another place, surrounded by soulful vibes and supported by his crooner voice.

BELGITUNES: Warhola

Warhola

[su_dropcap style=”simple”]E[/su_dropcap]very Wednesday, we publish an article about an artist from Belgium that we should be proud of. This week, our calendar was totally upset with the terrible attacks that happened in Brussels. That is why we chose to highlight an Antwerp-based artist whose pop music is delivered in a heartening and electronic cocoon. Oliver Symons is only 22 but has already shown for more than a year his talent in solo through his musical project Warhola. The singer, songwriter and producer, who is also a member of the Belgian band Bazart, just released his debut “Aura EP”: a good opportunity to have a look at his musical universe.
